Scholarship

2020 Cohort

As a senior in high school, I was blessed to find out that I was selected to be a part of the final cohort of the Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMSP). As a low-income student, finding out that the next 10 years of my post-secondary education would be paid for was a life-changing moment. During Autumn quarter, I was able to travel to Santa Clara for the last GMSP Leadership Conference. There, I found a new family.

When my mother handed me the unbelievably large envelope, my immediate thought was, "Wow, that is one fat rejection letter." To my utter disbelief, upon opening the envelope, my wildest of dreams had been granted: in it laid my GMSP award packet.
